dating sean diaz hcs pt 2
Tumblr media
- before esteban fixed up a car for sean, u guys would always take the public bus around seattle
- his favorite dates r the ones where u guys go into random small stores and thrift shops
- both of u guys cackle REALLY LOUD at tacky shirts with stupid sayings and get looks from people 😭
- ur fav thing is to go “i found something ud like” and watch sean look up from the racks in excitement to see an overly patriotic shirt that says “don’t touch my truck”
- his face drops into a frown and he picks out something 10x uglier and say it looks like something ud wear
- sean secretly buys what u say is cute but u cant afford bc thrifting is so expensive for no reason these days
- “guess what i got” and he slithers it out of his bag with an evil smile 😭 suddenly him dissing u for an hour straight doesnt even matter anymore
- once esteban texts sean for dinner u guys hop on the bus back home. he never asks sean to come home for dinner alone though! common courtesy to invite the gf
- sharing wired earbuds on the bus ride home always. sean plays little love songs bc he only listens to music that he relates to in that specific moment 😭 corny but cute. he def has songs in his head that he thinks are ur guys’ songs and plays them every chance he gets
- when u first started eating with the diaz family it was so painfully awkward
- though he kind of likes it now, he did not want his girlfriend to get to know esteban or daniel too well LMAO he didnt want to be embarrassed by anything they possibly could say
- still, even when he tried so hard to avoid it, daniel and esteban still found their ways
- estebans the kind of dad to bring up embarrassing stories about sean when he was a kid bc he KNOWS how much his son would hate it
- “y’know (y/n), im surprised seanie boy over here even managed to get a girlfriend in the first place”
- “why is that, mr. diaz?”
- “i remember he thought girls couldn’t poop until he was in middle school! i had to break the news for him—he was in denial for weeks. his voice was shaking when i told him and everything!” u can see sean pause mid-chew in the corner of his eye 😭 “and please, call me esteban”
- you just awkwardly nodded and tried to not bust out laughing. sean notices and kicks u under the table which makes u ACTUALLY bust out laughing
- esteban and daniel knew from there u were one to be trusted
- “i bet (y/n) doesn’t poop” daniel randomly said when u left that night. seans immediately swiveled his head around 😭
- just like with lyla, daniel seemed to have a crush on u as well. the only difference is that sean tries to shut it down REALLY quick.
- “she shits all the time. sometimes i wipe her ass for her bc she shits so much”
- daniel’s “eww…” is like music to his ears
- u always playfully punch him when he does this in front of u and ask why he makes u look bad in front of him
- sean never admits its bc hes jealous of a little kid 😭 he just changes the subject and kisses u bc he thinks hes sneaky
- over the summer he randomly got a buzz and didnt say anything to anybody
- he just opened his front door standing there bald as if nothing happened and ur eyes wld just kind of widen
- u wld eventually tell him it looks good tho bc it DOES he pulls it off so well
- that summer u wld always randomly start feeling his head because the texture is so interesting
- it got to the point where hed just sit on the floor in front of wherever u were so ud get to feel his freshly mowed head
- he always ends up dozing off bc its so comforting and u wld feel his head pressed on ur inner leg.
- u also get the privilege of cutting/buzzing his hair 😋
- sean doesnt trust himself so u guys sit for 40 mins watching a brad mondo video before u start going ape on his hair
- he gets kind of nervous when u get close to his face and does that thing where u switch between a persons right eye and left eye while smiling awkwardly 😭
- surprisingly it turns out good!
- i feel like ud be super nit-picky on ur work, thinking its total ass. he wld just say its perfect over and over again
- he always stares at any reflective surface and smiles like a dork in front of it. even if u did do a shit job, he probably wouldnt notice or care all that much bc he loves blindly ❤️
im on winter break so i get to be cringe and free for endless hours thank u to like the 3 other people who also like sean diaz. u r all real ones

Surprising you at your graduation
!HYUNG line!
masterlist
tried to be gender neutral but there’s mentions of heels/dresses
Sunghoons got very derailed and has a mild suggestive joke towards the end so be warned
Heeseung
When you found out they were doing an extension of the FATE tour in May, you were a bit scared because that aligned with your graduation. Heeseung had assured you he’d do anything he could to make it but as it would appear there was overlap. Of course you understood, he was always supportive and understanding and you would be too so as sad as you were you made sure to plan a little celebration for when he’s off the tour.
What you didn’t expect was to see Heeseung grinning ear to ear with a bouquet in his hands sitting in the front row when you walked across the stage. It took everything in your body to keep yourself from leaping from that stage and running into his arms but you kept your composure and proceeded to make your way across the stage. The smile on your face with the happy tears forming in your eyes almost made it hard for you to walk down the stairs in your heels but fear not, no one could ruin this moment for you. It was like hell sitting through the rest of the ceremony when the only thing you could think of is getting up from your seat and running to him. When the time came to finally move your tassel you locked eyes with him once again. You didn’t expect to be so emotional but seeing him be there with you on such a huge moment meant the world. You felt as if you could fall in love with him all over again. The bone crushing hug you gave him almost made your family upset that you went to him first before them but the smiles on your faces mixed the tears streaming down your face made any complaints (although joking) go away immediately.
Jay
You were going to school in the Seattle-Tacoma area and your graduation just so happened to PERFECTLY align with the FATE+ tour in Tacoma (ig you could say it was fate 🫣). Despite them having a little extra time in the area compared to other cities, the schedule was absolutely packed. From the concert to the baseball game to trying to find time to rest throughout the days in the US, Jay told you he wouldn’t be able to make it. There were conflicts within the rehearsal time and he already had barely any time to spend with family and friends that you assured him that you would be okay and you would see him at his concert the following day
You pledged to yourself that you knew Jay would support you through anything so you made sure to hold your head high because this was your moment! You worked so hard to get here and you should be so proud of yourself. You received your diploma and sat through the rest of the ceremony watching your peers receive the celebration they deserved. After the ceremony ended you met with your family and friends. They all gave you flowers and their congratulations all being well aware just how hard you worked for this moment. They also knew Jay couldn’t be there sadly so they decided to surprise you with a life size cardboard cutout of him in your favorite outfit from MAMA last year. It brought quite the chuckle from you knowing they were doing it to cheer you up.
“I think I look much better in 3D” you hear from behind you. It doesn’t take more than a second for you to whip your head around and see Jay standing there with the most beautiful bouquet in his hand with a smile to match. You threw yourself at him almost knocking him over as he said a congratulations into your ear. You stayed at the ceremony for a bit longer before he took your family to a restaurant for dinner. When you asked how he was able to make it he told you “we finished our rehearsal just before, I just had to be here to see you.” His reply only made your smile widen. The warmth you felt from his words made the day that much better
Jake
I’m not sure who was more excited for your graduation, you or Jake. He went with you to pick your dress and made sure that you could wear his favorite chain that he always wears when you walk across the stage because, despite his begging, you were not allowed to have him walk across the stage with you. He’s just the cutest throughout everything and he makes sure that you’re staying positive through all of your finals so that you aren’t too stressed. If he can help you with any paper, presentation, project, whatever he’ll sit with you at your desk for hours.
A week before the ceremony he comes up to you and quietly says that he has something to tell you. Believing that something was wrong you sit him down and he can’t even look you in the eye until he says quietly “I can’t go to your graduation baby.” Now of course you’re sad but you never doubt his love and support for you so you comfort him.
Now it was originally his idea to surprise you but he CANNOT LIE. He couldn’t look you in the eye because he knew that if he did he’d bust into a smile and that would ruin the whole plan so he opted to look away. Let’s just say he lasted pretty long. He lasted all the way to the ceremony thinking he did so so well in keeping the surprise but when you entered the auditorium with the other grads and looked him directly in the eye with the brightest smile, he knew that you’d probably known all along but let him have his surprise anyways. So he wasn’t too sad. Just know that he’s made it his life goal to properly be able to surprise you. Who knows his success in that venture might end with a ring on your finger.
Sunghoon
All grads are given a certain amount of tickets so when you had an extra you made sure you’d save it for Sunghoon just in case he could make it. You had asked him if he could and his immediate response was “I’m sorry baby I can’t be there”. Of course you wish he could be there but you both have your busy lives to attend to and you know he’d be thinking of you and was as supportive has he could be without physically being there.
You sent him pictures of all the different dresses and shoes and he gave you his honest opinions on what he thought looked best. He also made sure you had at least one piece of jewelry from him to wear that day as well.
Now as much as you wanted for him to be there, it’s not like you were alone. You were surrounded by friends and family and you were excited to celebrate your achievements with your loved ones. You had all planned to go to a restaurant that you frequently went to for special occasions in town and your parents made a point for you to ask Sunghoon if he could make it. You had to told him he would most likely be busy but you chose to ask anyway. He replied “I’ve got an important event to attend with the boys. It should be over around 5:00pm and I can join then.” Which that was perfect timing because your graduation was set to finish at 5 anyways.
Ceremony day came VERY quickly. You were wearing a very simple Tiffany necklace and bracelet that Sunghoon gifted you that went perfectly with your outfit! You walked the stage and got your diploma that you’ve worked so so hard for before joining your family in the reception area. You had exited the hall and were met with your own eyes staring right back at you. No there was no mirror in sight. You were face to face with your face except it was about 10x bigger the large cutout of your face being held by none other than Park Sunghoon who was also adorning a T-shirt with the same exact picture of your face on it (that may or may not be matching with your parents). You didn’t know whether you wanted to cry out of gratitude for him being there or embarrassment because OH MY GOD there’s a jumbo cutout of your head in this largely populated room. Regardless you go up to him and embrace him in the tightest hug possible.
Let’s just say he’s not impressed with how quickly you try to usher him out of there.
“What I wanted to talk to that professor more? Are you embarrassed baby? I can always take the shirt off you know? But my hands are kinda full can you help me?”
Can you tell he likes to make you flustered 🫣
That was quite the rollercoaster. Let me know if you want a maknae like version!!!

The strong smell of copper drew Jasper to the highway connecting Forks to Seattle. The rain had stopped and left the forest green and the soil wet, puddles visible here and there.
Carlisle followed him closely, humming a tune while his eyes took in the silent atmosphere. The light sound of leaves rustling or the soft breathing of the sleeping animals echoing in their ears.
And in between them, was a shallow breath. As if the person bleeding couldn't breath properly, from an injury or a weight on the chest. The thumping of heartbeat slowing down when they reached the highway.
Near the side laid a body, almost lifeless with clothes torn apart to pieces. Blood covered her skin and formed a puddle beneath her form. Chest heaving but gaining no oxygen to survive for any longer than a few minutes.
"Stay behind, Jasper," Carlisle said, kneeling down beside her while checking for all the injuries she had. "She needs us, Carlisle. Her heart is too slow to be rescued in mortal form," Jasper said, stepping closer while avoiding the animalistic growls his mind played inside.
Carlisle looked up immediately, understanding what his son implied before shaking his head. "No, I promised not to change anyone. I can't destroy another life," he said, preparing himself to do a CPR. "You know it won't help," Jasper argued, making Carlisle sigh.
Carlisle looked up to find Jasper with tears in his amber eyes. And that is when he realized why Jasper was urging him to change her.
Carlisle only nodded, deciding not to question at that moment.
Tumblr media
It was exhausting.
To be a vampire and constantly find yourself in a human's presence, (Y/N) learnt a hard way. While she didn't hate Bella, she just couldn't be in her presence without wanting rip her throat apart and devour every drop of blood in her.
It was Jasper who would wrap a hand around her waist while rubbing circles on her forearm. He stopped her from attacking the human all the time.
(Y/N) found herself liking Jasper's presence around. It soothed her and made her feel comfortable in her own skin. He helped her fit in, from teaching her how to hunt to explain to her the heightened senses.
It made her feel like she was some kind of damsel in distress and she did find herself frequently apologizing for it, much to the blonde man's dismay.
(Y/N) found him handsome. His long dirty blonde hair. His deep amber eyes. His sharp wits and features. His entire personality and his accent. He would always call her 'Madam', something she found herself liking.
He never really asked her about her origin, or about that night; but he did tell her about his past. Everything thing he had done. And as much as (Y/N) wanted to hate him for serving the Confederate Army, she just couldn't.
It could just not happen. Her hating him. Probably because it was him who convinced Carlisle to change her and grant her a chance at living. She didn't know for sure, just that she found herself seeking him more and more.
"You should let it out," Jasper's voice echoed in the valley as he looked at the woman beside him. (Y/N) only hummed, hugging her knees as she looked up at the full moon. "I don't know if I can."
"You can," Jasper said, determined. His amber eyes found her crimson ones, laced with intensity and loyalty. "You seem more confident about me then I am about myself," she chuckled, before sighing, the smile dropping.
"It was a friend," she whispered, eyes focused on the rock in front of her. "We were drunk and he offered to... drive me home," she continued, tearing up as the night became clearer in her mind. "He stopped in the middle of the road, said something was wrong with the car."
Jasper could feel her emotions spiking, making him wrap his hand around her shoulder. Placing his head on her shoulder, he spoke, "You know, when I was working for Maria. I thought I was doing right, but no. It wasn't that way."
"Could never do anything wrong," she whispered shyly, fingers tracing some unknown patterns on his thigh. "I did many wrongs in my life, (Y/N). But convincing Carlisle to turn you, it was the best decision I could ever make."
"I am grateful you did," she said with a smile, making Jasper roll his eyes teasingly. "You can repay me in the future," he said jokingly, making the lady laugh heartily.
"You know, you look breathtaking under the moon," Jasper complimented, making (Y/N)'s eyes dart everywhere but denied meeting his.
The empath smiled, his fingers interlacing with hers as they watched each other under the moonlight, blissfully.

Eid Mubarak :)
I'm so sorry this is a little late, but Eid Mubarak to everyone who celebrates! (And Selamat Hari Raya to folks who come from where I come from! <3)
Here's a little snippet of Rayyan and MC back home, celebrating :)
Part I.
Rayyan's family have just gotten back from their neighbourhood mosque, and now they're busy with the finishing touches to the meal preparations.
Little Mahaila is still a little too young to help out, but she doesn't wanted to miss out on all the fun, so Rayyan hoists her up to the kitchen counter, and Mahaila keeps up a constant stream of chatter directed at MC, while Rayyan and their mother busy themselves with the cooking.
Already the counter is laden with huge colorful dishes, and the smell is to die for. Mahaila's pointing out each of the dishes to MC one-by-one, and Rayyan and their mother occasionally chime in with details and little family anecdotes and recipe instructions.
There's Mahshi—stuffed peppers with tomato sauce, her grandparents' favorite, Batatis bil frakh—potatoes with chicken, her dad's favorite, and Mesaka’a—oven roasted eggplant with ground beef, which is Rayyan's favorite. Rayyan no longer quite remembers how it had tasted, back in Cairo, but ever since they'd moved to Seattle, the dish has become a family specialty, mostly because all the ingredients can be easily found in the grocery shops in Seattle.
Part II.
Rayyan's mother holds a spoon out to Rayyan. "Come, help me taste the Molokhia," she says. "Does it need more cilantro?"
Rayyan takes a big mouthful of the thick green soup which always tastes a little too healthy, in their opinion. They scrunch up their face, swallow, and nod—a little weakly.
Their mother smacks them on the arm and snorts. "I don't know why I bother," she says, shaking her head and bustles over to offer it to MC instead.
The shock of the taste makes MC blink, then breathe out softly, before allowing it to swirl around their tongue, delightfully distinct from anything they've ever tasted. They detect chicken broth, which forms the strong, comforting base, then the delicate and familiar layers of cilantro, garlic, salt and pepper, but there's another taste—strong and clean—cutting through everything else. "Wow," they breathe, genuinely astounded. "It's amazing. What is it?"
Rayyan's mother beams at MC. "I think what you are tasting is the leaf of jute tree. I am happy you like it. It is my favorite too." She nudges Rayyan in the ribs. "We have good taste. Unlike this one."
Rayyan makes a face at you. "Suck up," they whisper, for your ears only, but even their usual knitted brows can't hide the big grin that's spreading across their face.
Part III.
A loud clatter interrupts your conversation, and Rayyan looks up in alarm, still swiping at their mouth with an arm. Ishaq, one of Rayyan's twin brothers, pauses guiltily mid-stride, about halfway to the kitchen door. You hadn't noticed him come in. In his hands, there's a big bowl of kahk—nut cookies dusted with sugar. A bunch of cutlery lie on the floor, knocked over in his rush to escape with the loot.
Mahaila, beaming, lips also stained with the evidence of powdered sugar, helpfully points a finger at her brother.
"You already ate like five of them," Rayyan's mother scolds, taking the plate from Ishaq and placing it firmly on the table. "Shoo now! Before I ban you from kahk for life!"
His jaw drops, and he quickly scurries away obediently.
Rayyan snorts at you, and sees you eyeing the cookies curiously. They pick one out of the plate, then close the distance between you, smiling. "Would you like one?" they ask, voice dipping low as they lean in closer to you.
Part IV.
MC's heart flutters, and they hop off the counter, face now inches from Rayyan's. "If it's as sweet as you are," MC says, grinning, "then yes."
Rayyan bring a hand up, then pop the sweet treat into MC's mouth, studying their expression closely.
There's an immediate burst of rich, nutty sweetness. MC lets out a soft groan of appreciation.
Rayyan laughs, then brings their thumb up to wipe the sugar from MC's bottom lip, green eyes sparkling. MC catches their hand. That's when Rayyan leans in for a quick kiss, tasting the sweetness of soft sugar on MC's lips. When they finally step back, there's an infuriatingly smug smile on their face. "The cookies are good this year, aren't they? I helped make them."

Of Saints and Sinners - Chapter 4
Joel Miller x f!reader/f!oc
masterlist
warnings | 18+ dark themes, angst, canon-typical violence
a/n | this one is tough, y'all. we find out how our girl got all those scars...
It’s been five days since the men left Jackson. There’s been no sign of anything, no clickers, no bandits. They’ve made it through the mountain pass and are left in the eerie silence of the crumbling highway, on the edge of Idaho crossing into Oregon. Steve has taken some of the steel out of his attitude, becoming at least civil with Joel. Alex is much kinder, much more open, and he and Joel often make decent conversation.
Alex and Steve have both been slowly providing Joel with information about her, about this group called the Washington Liberation Front. A militia that was able to overthrow FEDRA, claiming Seattle first as its own and slowly spreading outposts across the state of Washington. Way before that happened, when everything went down, she had been at Whitman College, quickly shuttled into the Seattle QZ. Steve had shared a freshman seminar class with her, a passing acquaintance, so when she saw him in the triage center in Seattle, they both grabbed onto each other and never let go. They were both young, and smart, and had easily inserted themselves into the growing resistance that became the WLF, securing minor leadership positions as FEDRA fell in Washington state.
“I still remember when we figured out that she was immune. We were out on a raid mission, got completely swamped by clickers. Our team got split up, I lost track of her. Got back to base and when I found out she hadn’t returned, I figured she was gone, another devastation.” They’ve set up camp for the night in a shelled-out gas station as Steve whispers these memories, hanging his arms over his knees as he sits against a wall.
“Imagine my surprise, my relief, when she comes stumbling back to the gates four days later. They had to hold me back from hugging her while they tested her for infection, it felt like my heart exploded when the scanner went red.” He takes a deep breath, “but she swore up and down that she had been bit that first day she was out there, and she still hadn’t turned three days later. She showed us the bite on her shoulder and it was unlike anything we’d ever seen. It was healing.”
Joel thinks of the scars she had shown him, the glaring evidence of violence endured and rejected.
“They put her in solitary immediately, under observation. The Front had cobbled together a de facto medical team, former doctors and scientists. They kept her there, in the hospital, for two weeks. No one would tell me what was going on, just that she was still her but that they couldn’t let me see her, couldn’t let her back out among us.”
Steve stops, shudders. Alex dips his head towards his chest, closing his eyes.
“And then, at the end of those two weeks, they let me in to see her. She was fine, the bite was fully scabbed over, no infection. She told me they were gonna release her the next day so she could get back to work, that they’d bring her in for more testing later on.”
“They didn’t release her though. When I didn’t see her at breakfast or lunch, I went to the hospital looking for answers. They hadn’t released her, they had moved her. Said that her body was too valuable, that she needed to be placed under full medical observation. Not that she was too valuable, her body was too valuable.” Joel feels sick to his stomach hearing this all too familiar story.
“They told me it wasn’t my place to be asking these questions, that I needed to remember my position before they reminded me themselves. Those were still early days for the Front. Someone said the wrong thing and suddenly you’d never see them again. I was terrified, I didn’t fucking know what to do. I figured she was too valuable a fighter, too valuable a soldier for them to kill her. That they’d get whatever they wanted from her and release her.”
Steve’s hands are shaking as he huffs out an exhale. “Months went by. They knew that I was worried, that I hadn’t just dropped it. I’d get a message every few weeks from a higher up, letting me know she was safe, that they still needed to keep her under observation. It had been ten months when I finally started to lose it. I couldn’t keep my head down any longer.”
“There had been a raid by the Seraphites, at the hospital. My team had been sent to pacify the situation. I was by myself, clearing out the top floor and I found a doctor, one of the doctors, bleeding out.” Steve’s staring straight ahead as he tells this story, fists clenched now, voice resolute.
“He had a gunshot wound in his left side. I dug my thumb into the puncture, twisting the bullet deeper, and I told him to tell me where they were keeping her. And he sang. I shot him in the head.”
“It was easy to get people to help me find her. She was well-liked by most, a natural leader and a good friend. They were keeping her in an enclosure in the old Woodland Park Zoo. The fucking zoo. It was an off-limits area for civilians.”
Steve pauses, wringing his hands, glancing at Joel beside him. “It wasn’t hard getting her out. I had the best of the best with me when it came to fighting, but when the others saw what had been done to her, they abandoned us. I guess they were scared of her, or scared for her, I don’t really know. But I had a car ready, packed up. I hid her in the back and we got the hell out of Seattle before anyone was the wiser. Never looked back.”
“I remember I stopped the car the minute we crossed state lines, asked her to let me treat her wounds. I think it had finally sunk in, what I had seen. When we found her, she was chained at the ankle in a plexiglass cage –” Steve hiccups and Joel can see he’s now silently crying, shaking in both sadness and rage. “N-naked from the waist up, a-and all over her back–” he takes a sharp inhale, “well, she showed you the scars. That’s nothing compared to what it looked like fresh.”
“All these years, I’ve thought about it, and I still can’t figure out what they were trying to do with her, why they did that. Were they just trying to see how many infections it’d take before she succumbed to it? Trying to figure out how her body fought the infection by exposing her to it over and over and over? Or were they just using her as some sort of perverse entertainment? The miracle woman who gets back up everytime.” Steve takes a shuddering inhale, letting his shoulders slump.
“She was fucking terrified. Didn’t even really trust me, kept asking me if I was gonna have to take her back soon.” He scoffs, “I guess I understood that, after she’d been betrayed by so many. I just kept promising her and promising her that I’d– that I’d never let her get taken back there again.” Steve’s taking shuddering breaths, eyes squeezed shut.
Silence descends. Alex is crying. Joel is speechless. Steve mumbles, “I don’t wanna say anymore right now. I can’t.”
Joel tentatively rests his hand on Steve’s forearm. The younger man squints at him through the dim light. “We’re gonna find her. We’re not gonna let it happen again.”
He’s not sure where those words come from. He’s not sure if they’re even true. But it’s all that he can offer this shivering man.
“We gotta get to them before they’re back in Washington. The minute they hit home turf, we’re screwed.” Alex wipes his nose with his shirt sleeve, looking at Joel, “we’ve got all of Oregon to find them then.”
The three men resolve themselves to silence in the aftermath of these words, each stuck in his own mind, replaying what’s been said, what’s been lived.
Little do they know about two miles further up the highway, she’s waking up after having been drugged endlessly for the last week, and she has no intention of going back under anytime soon.

you and i, and her. pt 6
Chapter five
Summary: Seattle day two. Ellie and Abby have more similarities than reader had originally thought. As they fight off infected together, reader takes notes of the way Ellie's urge for vengeance made her unstoppable. Reader sneaks off at night looking for more clues and comes across a familiar group. Heartbreak ensues.
Warnings: Mentions of murder, mentions of violence, vague descriptions of violence, Ellie is down bad, but she doesn't know it, fluff, platonic affection, platonic love, reader is heartbroken, but Ellie is there, sharing a sleeping bag/bed trope, foul language (its tlou what did you expect)
It was only a matter of time until you'd both come across infected, after all it was an apocalypse. However, that didn't make you dread the confrontation any less.
It wasn't even the killing that grossed you out, it was the smell, the blood, the guts spilling and bone crushing sounds you heard every time you came up from behind and stealthily attacked.
Ellie was impressed by your skills, but she was just as strategic if not more than you, she had this look in her eyes when she killed. One of pure, raw, determination. She struck with zero hesitation, and it reminded you of Abby.
Though the fighting styles were so different. After observing Abby for years and Ellie for months, you noticed how their personalities impacted the way they fought. Abby was powerful, brutal, swift and efficient and though Ellie also got the job done, she snuck up on her victims rather than plainly attacking and drew as little attention to herself as possible. Ellie was a force to be reckoned with and watching her made you realize how power of an emotion vengeance is.
It frightened you. It made you fear for Abby, Ellie would put up a good fight. She didn't seem to ever change her mind, she was bold and stubborn and impulsive.
The longer the trip went on, the less you slept. You would stay up all night studying the map you found but to no avail. Everything on the map, you already knew. After all, you were a member of the WLF.
Until one day, you snuck off into the woods and found a lookout. You climbed up its ladder. It was a struggle in the dark, but you managed and inside you were shocked.
A working radio, walkie’s, a wall of notes and sleeping bags.
Someone was here.
Just as you started to look through everything, snatching the walkies into your pack you heard a voice.
“Your fucking asshole, I cant believe you made me come all the way out here for nothing.”
“Hey I thought I heard something!”
The voices immediately started arguing, it sounded like two men and vaguely familiar but you were still on guard, you were trapped inside the tower, you grabbed your gun and stood flat against the wall by the entrance readying yourself, a man stepped in not played attention until you pressed your gun to his forehead.
“Dont fucking move” you spoke
“What the fuck!” The man said, you were about to respond until you were promptly tackled to the ground. It was dark, hard to see, and your flashlight flew out of your reach.
“ Get off of me asshole!” You screamed
“The fuck is going on up there!”  A voice shouted from below. You were on the floor, stomach facing down as someone pulled you by the hair and tilted your face up.
“Fucking get off!” You flaided your body wildly trying to escape. The person on top of you stopped suddenly and was pulled off of you.
You sat up panting.
A flashlight’s beam hit your face, blinding you.
“Oh my god, y/n?”
You looked up at the oh so familiar voice, the smell of pine and forest and sweat hitting your senses.
You froze ,mouth gaping.
“Abby.”
She pulled you up by the arm, hands on your shoulders and stared at you.
“Its you” She spoke, holding your face.
“Its me”
Another man entered the room, promptly ruining the moment.
“y/n?”
You turned
“Owen.”
“Owen fuck off for a second!” Abby said, clearly annoyed that he had fucked up the moment.
“What the fuck! No!”
“Owen, manny, everybody needs to get out. Now.”
At that, they all exited the tower.
“Where the fuck have you been?” You said with a shaking voice
“Where have you been? You disappeared! I thought you left me”
“You know me better than that Abby”
“Yea, yes I do” Abby spoke, her rough calloused hands stroking your cheeks as if she didn't believe you were actually here.
“Why didnt you come looking for me?” You said, million questions in your mind
“I had somethings to take care of”
“What?”
“I found him”
“Found who?”
“The son of a bitch that killed my father. I found him, I killed him”
You paused, in the joy of finding Abby again, you had forgotten the purpose of Ellie’s goal.
You stared at Abby
Then you smacked her across the face.
“Babe! What the fuck!”
“Don't you ‘babe’ me” You were so pissed off, Abby didn't try and find you after you'd gotten kidnapped because she was too busy seeking revenge? Maybe you were being a little dramatic, slapping her and all but she forgot about you completely and moved on while you were hung up looking for her, betraying Ellie for her.
“You completely forgot about me!”
“I would never forget about you.”
“Then why didn't you come looking for me? I literally almost fucking died alone!”
“I wanted to look for you, trust me I did but Owen-”
You rolled your eyes
“Oh since when do you listen to Owen”
Abby gulped, with a knowing look in her eyes
You stepped back
“No fucking way”
“Baby, listen, I just-”
Angry tears welled up in your eyes
“Your with him again. Arent you.”
“Its just because-”
“Answer my fucking question Anderson”
Abby's face fell, you had only called her that when you were upset with her, it was always Abby, Abs, babe, but never her last name.
“Yea. I am.”
“I fucking hate you”
“You dont mean that”
“I have spent hours, days, weeks, months not able to think, to sleep, because I've been worried about you! I've been sitting here looking like an idiot stuck on someone who is now fucking around with Owen! Out of all fucking people, Owen? Are you serious? You clearly never gave a shit about me! If you had, you wouldn't be sleeping with your shitty ex-boyfriend!”
Abby looked at the floor, shame weighing on her.
“I love you”
“Unbelievable! You expect me to just fall back into your arms after everything you put me through!”
“No, no I don't.”
You put your head in your hands. You loved Abby so much, but being with her right now was overwhelming, and knowing she was with Owen again broke you.
You shoved her out of your way and went to leave.
“ You can't leave me, I've just found you”
Abby’s voice sounded so soft and so remorseful as if she was genuinely scared of losing you again. Her hand trembled, wanting to pull you into her arms and apologize over and over again, because she really was sorry, she really did love you. Owen could never be enough for her, not when she only wanted you, Owen was the shitty fuck she came too only to get you off her mind, but every breath she took, every beat of her selfish heart, it was only there for you.
You turned to face her. Resolve crumbling, you had only ever seen her so broken once before, when she lost her father.
“Meet me here tomorrow at dawn we can talk…Don't bring Owen.” You replied.
She nodded, willing to do anything to win you back.
“I’ll see you then.”
You didn't look at her after that, you walked out and passed an annoyed Owen. What was once anger morphed into sadness as you made your way back to the makeshift camp Ellie had made.
Ellie was kind, she was generous, she cared about you, every morning you woke up her floor the first thing she would say was,
“How are you feeling?” with the most genuine expression. She was interested in your response and listened to you. Ellie was good for you, she was healthy for you. And you were betraying her. It made you second guess your original plan. Ellie was the one you needed, but Abby would always be the one you wanted.
When you made it back, you shuffled your sleeping bag closer to Ellie's. You wanted the comfort of your best friend even though you didn't deserve it after all you had done.
“Y/n?” Ellie stirred awake, looking at you, taking in your melancholy.
“Did you have a bad dream?” She was concerned, she was so good to you. You felt like you could cry
“Uhm yea”
“Come here”
Ellie opened up her sleeping bag, holding her arms out for you to crawl into.
Any other time, you would have said no, but you were so vulnerable and hurt you moved into her arms with no hesitation, burying your face into her neck.
Still you were tense. Holding in tears, that was until Ellie wrapped her arm around your waist. You let go of the tears and fell into her. Allowing her to comfort you.
“Shhh, shhh its okay” She mumbled
The tears just kept coming, but Ellie knew you didn't want to be questioned at the moment, so she held you, showering you with affection.
It felt nice to feel wanted again. It felt nice to be comforted.
I'm so sorry Ellie, You thought, the guilt of your actions making you worse.
“‘’M sorry” you mumbled, between frantic breathes
“About what?
“Everything”
Ellie looked at you with a confused face.
“Never be sorry for telling me how you feel.” She assumed you felt embarrassed by your display, she didn't want you to feel that way
The truth would kill her.
Nothing felt more right than holding you in that moment, she had yearned for it, and savored the way it felt. She was happy to be the one comforting you.
“I'm here for you, okay?”
The tears eventually slowed to a stop,
“Okay.”
“Get some rest, you can stay with me tonight”
You nodded, feeling exhausted and fell into a deep slumber. That night, when you dreamt it no longer smelt as strongly of pine.
Ellie awoke first with a pleasurable pressure on her chest, the feeling of your head laying on her. You were curled into her side, fast asleep with a face puffy from crying.
Youd seen her cry plenty of times, but she never saw you reciprocate that vulnerability until now.
She was overjoyed that you trusted her enough.
She watched you rest until you woke. You looked like a  total mess, she smiled, she could get used to waking up next to her best friend.
It was then when she noticed your natural beauty, fresh in the morning, bathing in sunlight. How could she not see it before? Here you are, gorgeous as ever, was she blind to it the entire time? Or was it just now that she was learning to appreciate you?
“What are you staring at?” You grumbled, still curled up next to her
“You.” Ellie spoke breathlessly, in a trance like state, simply watching your every subtle movement.
You stared up at her wide eyed, feeling awkward and deciding to break up the tension.
“That was so not platonic” you thought.
“You creep” You laughed, trying to change the subject. Ellie snapped out of it at the sound of your nervous laughter.
“Oh whatever” Ellie rolled her eyes
The two of you finally separated, eating the rations of Chef Boyardee you had found.
“Mmm room temperature 20 year old raviolis. Yummy” Ellie exclaimed with clear sarcasm in her voice
“Better than what you had us eat yesterday, fucking canned artichokes? Disgusting”
“Yea, it was pretty gross”
“I know, tasted putrid”
“Putrid? Where do you come up with words like that?”
“Its a real word, maybe you would have better vocabulary if you paid attention in school”
“Bitch fuck you, you ran away when you were 14”
“Bitch so did you”
“Well…okay yea” Ellie said sheepishly.
You smiled at her, ravioli sauce on your lips
“Umm you got a little something.” She pointed to the corner of her mouth
You licked your lips, she stared.
“Thanks”
She didn't speak much after that, but when you both had gotten up on Shimmer, your chest against her back. She felt at peace.
For now, things were okay, but deep inside, it was the beginning of the end.

i found blaseball in season 3.
the very end of season 3, and i remember i only found it because one of the NITW creators tweeted something along the lines of “ok i’ll bite what’s blaseball” and i went “what IS blaseball?” and i Googled it and suddenly there i was
i picked the Garages because i always have been and always will be a Seattlite at heart - i remember briefly deliberating over the Tacos (who were just the LA Tacos at the time!) and a couple other teams, but the Seattle pull was too strong
i remember that i joined either very late on Saturday or very early on Sunday - it was post the s3 finals because i remember seeing the Tigers as the s3 champions, but it was pre-election because i remember casting my lone vote for Eat the Rich
but this was RIGHT before the first siesta, and i had no idea what the timeline of a season looked like, and i went “well i guess i’ll check back in later” and then basically completely forgot about it for the next couple weeks and might’ve forgotten forever if i hadn’t seen another tweet from someone when it came back.
i remember watching my very first game on the bus to work. i think i must’ve missed the first day of games, i think it must’ve been a Tuesday, because i caught the bus at like 7am and i remember seasons not starting until 8am on Mondays. i watched the Garages play the Crabs (Garages lost). i remember falling in love with Avila Guzman and Allison Abbott and Malik Destiny (pre-catboyification!) based on nothing but vibes because i didn’t know anything about blaseball lore, i didn’t even know blaseball HAD lore. i think i found the Discord later that day, and i remember the Avila-Farrell feedback happening right around the time i joined the Discord.
i got my best friend into it at the same time and it turned into a hyperfixation for both of us. i remember sitting in their living room watching the finals for s4 while our partners sat by slightly befuddled by this thing that had suddenly taken over our lives.
i moved a couple hours away for grad school at the beginning of Sept 2020 and it was possibly the most miserable time of my life. i was lucky enough to be with family at least, but i was away from my now-husband and because of COVID everything was online and i am NOT a person who does well with online courses - when i had applied in fall of 2019 i had obviously assumed everything would be in-person. i had multiple meltdowns the first few months and blaseball was often the only bright spot.
the Jaylen necromancy, oh man. i remember when i first started looking up our lore and went “i missed out on a player named Jaylen Hotdogfingers????” she loomed so large over the Garages those first few seasons. her death kind of set the tone for us, especially as we kept losing players - every team wanted to fight the gods, but it felt so viscerally PERSONAL. and then one day i opened the website and saw her on the idol board with the little flaming skull next to her name.
i cannot even begin to describe the chaos i walked into when i opened the Discord and went to the Garages channel. it was just something you had to be there for. i was IMMEDIATELY team necromancy, because what was blaseball all about if not slamming big red buttons? and i figured if we didn’t, someone else would, so it might as well be us. a lot of folks felt the same. some didn’t. my mom called me at one point and asked me why i was talking about necromancy on Twitter. the Garages, obviously, decided to go for it. we had to try.
and at the same time, the Garages, somehow, were finally becoming a decent team. we made the playoffs for the first time in season 6. Jaylen’s final words, as per lore, were “we’ve just gotta make it to the playoffs.” we swept the Pies and Tigers - both former 2 time champions - to get to the finals. Mike Townsend, he who lived always in Jaylen’s shadow, threw out the first pitch of the first game of the finals. the Crabs swept us but we didn’t care. we had made it to the playoffs. we could do ANYTHING. we could bring our star pitcher back. and we did.
god, i’m just telling stories now, but to be fair blaseball is nothing BUT stories. i remember i spent a lot of that weekend in bed sleeping and crying because i was so depressed, but i pulled myself out of it enough to watch the election results roll in. to see Jaylen come home. to see Mike truly relegated to Jaylen’s shadow.
on Ruby Tuesday i was busy trying to unpack my room with my mom’s help. i took a break to check in on blaseball. games weren’t running even though they should’ve been. i scrolled through the game feed until i hit the Tigers-Moist Talkers game and realized just what we’d done, what Jaylen’s debt truly meant.
i didn’t always remember to watch the playoffs if the Garages weren’t in them, but i was watching when the Shoe Thieves reverse-swept the Crabs and were launched into a boss battle. Jaylen pitching against the puppets of a God. (the results of the Snackrifice.)
i cried when Jaylen went back to the Hall, even though i was sure her story wasn’t done. (and it wasn’t.)
the s11 finals between the Beams and Garages was one of the most emotionally draining things i’ve ever been through. we KNEW the Beams had us beat but the Sun 2/Black Hole shenanigans kept us holding on. i cried when we finally lost. and then the Keepers opened up the eternal concert in the Discord, and for hours there were hundreds of us packed in there, listening to Garages songs that sounded like you were hearing them played at a dive bar down the street because the quality was so bad and “singing” along, and eventually Get Normal came up, and everyone had been waiting for it, and. i don’t know. god, i cried so much. something about that moment of connection. something about the closest to a concert i’d experienced in a year. something about knowing it was the literal end of an era.
i don’t even know where to start with expansion. yeah it was an exhausting mess. my hyperfixation fucking LOVED it. i may have to do an expansion era retrospective/ramble separately because this is already too damn long, and expansion was SO much. for now i’ll just say that i will carry the way the Garages handled the final season of expansion with me for the rest of my life. it was so… poignant. watching us cling to our philosophy of “the Garage is always open” even though we KNEW we were inviting our own potential destruction through the door. choosing containment because we refused to save ourselves at the expense of the league but we could at least make sure the damage started and ended with us. making a beeline for the Hall because at the end of it we just wanted to go see our friends one more time.
i’ve mentioned this before, but when we melted the Coin i was at a minor league baseball game. it was the first game i had been to in probably four or five years and it was the first time i can remember actively CARING about baseball as an adult. i work for that minor league team now and i absolutely would not be doing that if not for blaseball.
god. i’m so, so sad. i will miss blaseball for the rest of my life. what a weird little piece of the internet i was blessed to partake in.

Okay two things one In that first photo immediately I went to posture and facial expression etc. He's sitting rigid which implies he's got a vest, his feet are in a position to be able to move at any second, his cup wasn't held comfortably and even the way he's holding his phone shows he's recording. His face also says fuck I'm caught.
Now I actually am really good at reading people so is My boyfriend, as a kid/young adult I wanted to be an fbi profiler (until I realized thats a joke) or international spy (I'm disabled) or a lawyer (i have 4 years of political science and Hispanic studies degrees focused on law, prisons, Healthcare and immigration so thats still an option when i have money) and I find human psychology fascinating that was my first choice major but my disability prevented a psych degree, and my boyfriend worked military and then in the police department in the csi lab (both non US). It's also worth mentioning that certain times we have zero filter, so we just say things sometimes 🤣. we run a kik group together and this guy comes in the group, I own it so I verify the guy, get his age and location all that. Then he starts talking and something just seems ....off. now I also lived in the hood on and off for 12 years and I recognized the way he spoke. Literally the tone he texted in and the words he used, even his pfp just the photo of him screamed cop. finally after a couple hrs of him being there I was like, "are you a cop?" And he was like......radio silence.... my boyfriend whos on a call with me is dying laughing saying "babes you can't just ask people if they're cops 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣" I'm like "well I just did, if he's from the US directly asked they're legally required to tell us especially if he's trying to collect info" so we wait finally dude goes, "yeah..I am" I was like "I knew it" my boyfriend smokes weed legally and dude would manage to come on during the times he was, we messed with him for a bit too, nothing mean just talked as we normally do about me being a prison abolitionist and some of the other members would joke about committing low level crime or them being angels, our trauma, smexual experiences etc, all of which im sure was way more than this guy signed up for, a couple of the members like me and my boyfriend have bad experiences with cops (I was never arrested and never committed a crime i am very often, harrassed, stalked, made fun of and lied to by police that it makes it difficult to be comfortable with them) (my partner just has problems with authority), so we were more on guard. He left a few days later, either because we bore him or he found out we're all clean there legally speaking, and he couldn't buy drugs (though he did ask at one point whether joking or not thats sus).
Anyway, pigs love sheep clothing. Make sure you know how to spot them, your rights, local laws, basic federal laws and by all means DO NOT EXPECT THEY KNOW THE LAW, THEY DON'T. I've had more than 3 lie or blatantly not know the law and its always put me in a bad position. Remind them of the law, correct them, they hate it but it's entirely necessary.
I tend to also get harassed because I'm not light enough for them (I'm mixed race) so another tip a very very strange one at that. If you go out and are asking question or directions some place but you don't look like your only ancestors stepped off the mayflower but your friend does, have them ask the question or directions. I've tested it, they got rude with me acted like I was gonna steal cars and condescendingly said "maybe next time remember where you parked it" (it was 10pm in Seattle everything's dark we got there at 5pm when it was sunny of course we lost the car) anyway they turned to My friend who looks like a lighter version of the lucky charms mascot Character and kindly told him exactly how to get there.
Losing my mind remembering that pic chelsea manning posted of the extremely undercover and not at all obvious fbi agent who was tailing her after her release

Life before Korea
I had already known we were deploying back in 2021 when I first got to my unit. We left in October of 2022 to Korea. Apart of me was actually very happy if anyone knows me they know I love anime and I always wanted to go to Japan and Korea which is next door to Japan, but I had also been grieving the loss of my father and being away from Aaliyah in which my mom who I don’t have the best relationship with would watch her.
My time in Washington before the deployment I was actually very happy like genuinely happy I had beat my ex husband at his evil game I had a new home and a flourishing bank account. I was able to provide for my daughter compared to some years ago when I was living with my mom again working at Walmart making 300$ a check after I lost my job.
I was HAVING IT AGAIN” but life had humbled me deeply. After everything I typed prior to this I had truly been WOKE and very cautious and aware. I was very focused on my goal to the point where I didn’t pay attention to anyone at all except the people I needed to so I could get to where I needed to be.
My new job in the military was infantry I didn’t pick it at all but that’s how I got my job and benefits back. I survived fort benning ga and coming the my unit I was not here to play or hook up with anyone AT ALL. I was very driven and focused, I enjoyed my time as a single mother with my daughter. I loved the Seattle experience and finding things I liked and staying focused at work but after while I had began to feel lonely. The feeling I felt before I hooked up with my ex husband and finally gave him chance leading me down a dark path.
Anytime I felt a sense of “loneliness” I immediately internalized and thought of my previous trauma. It had seemed I hadn’t healed from my husband and I still needed to do work with myself. Mind you it’s 2021, I had found out my ex husband got his ex gf pregnant behind my back and they were planning a life together the year prior in 2020 the “spiraling years” so yes I need to get to the root of the pain.
Normally I would just go on his mistress page and check for anything she would post of him and their child SOMETHING that would hurt me so bad that I would become numb to it. That didn’t help at all really…it felt like I was looking for something to help me purge this terrible feeling and demon out of my body but I was doing it incorrectly.
Pain and trauma changes you. It makes you reevaluate your life and demean yourself not worthy. I didn’t have my dad to talk to I had cut him off because I looped him in with every other man that cheats. Initially what helped me to get over the pain I felt from my divorce and Damian was my spirituality. I don’t know if you are reading this but if you are you would know by now that I have been through a lot, a lot that words can’t even sum it all up especially when you are going through it in real life. I looked back at everything I had been through. When I was with Damian every single recruiter REJECTED me and could not get me back in the military for various reasons. I tried every recruiter from Colorado all the way to Tennessee but initially nothing worked. By the time I had separated from Damian I had an opening and that right there told me everything I needed to know. I was not meant to start my new life with Damian in it being that he had always made his mind behind my back and God saw it and STOPPED before the darkness went any further, this ALONE helped me. I stopped looking at his mistress page and I stopped looking for him and proceeded on the NEW path that God created for me.
Damian had blamed me for the downfall of his life and I internalized that as I have a pattern for believing I’m always wrong. I felt I wasn’t a good wife when in reality I was too young and moving too fast being overly anxious again as I have a history for that. I went through a very humbling lesson that made me very cautious and disciplined when it came to giving a man my body or acting off impulse whenever I felt “lonely”
I have no ill will towards Damian and yes I have him out my system now which I’m sure my dad is very proud of looking from above, I personally don’t even care if he reaches out for Aaliyah he hasn’t done anything for her over the years but demand money from me in which again I care no ill will towards but don’t get it fucked up if he come for me I’ll be ready and I’ll stand up for myself and my daughter EVERY single time!
Moving forward as I had finally healed from my divorce. I mean I still looked. I’m not perfect and someone caught my eye ….

home || vinnie hacker x reader
Tumblr media
you and vinnie, along with a couple of his closest friends, decided to take a trip to vinnie’s hometown for a much needed break from each of your bustling lives in la.
after packing your bags, bidding farewell to your housemates, and most importantly some last minute cuddles with hera, you were all set to go.
the flight to seattle wasn’t too long. sharing a pair of headphones with vinnie, you managed to watch spiderman: no way home, well at least vinnie did. with your head resting comfortably upon his shoulder, you nodded off for a quite a bit, missing half of the movie.
however in three short hours you were awaken by the pilot’s muffled announcement notifying all passengers to prepare for landing. You officially arrived in what was popularly known as the emerald city.
you were so excited to finally be here again, knowing seattle brought out a certain type of glow in your boyfriend that you wished would last forever.
swiftly picking up all the luggage at baggage claim, the four of you hopped into an uber making your way to vinnie’s childhood home.
without even knocking, vinnie barged into the house yelling, “i’m back motherfuckers,” making his presence immediately known. giggling to yourself, you followed behind as he led you all to the kitchen at the back of the house, where he assumed his family resided.
and he was correct.
as the spacious kitchen and living room came into view, you could see his younger brother and mom lounging on the coach engrossed with some show on the television, while his dad was cooking up something that smelled absolutely delicious.
“vinnie! y/n!” his mom shouted once she noticed your arrival, quickly getting up from her spot on the couch to give you each a hug.
his dad soon followed behind, “you got here just in time, food’s almost ready!” he remarked, bringing his eldest son into a hug.
after greeting his parents, vinnie ran over to tackle his brother who was still laying on the couch. the two began wrestling. “some things never change,” his mom laughed, rolling her eyes, now coming over to you for a big hug.
“oh it is so good to see you, y/n,” she said squeezing you tight, “we’ve missed you both very much. how is everything? vinnie still treating you right?”
you laughed at that. “yes of course. he truly is amazing, i’ve never felt so loved in my life.”
this left a huge smile on maria’s face, so proud of the young man her son had grown to be. she loved y/n like a daughter, hoping in time she would actually become that. maria saw how much happiness y/n brought vinnie and she was thrilled he found someone like her, especially living in a city like la where not everyone’s intentions were pure. his whole family thought they were perfect for each other, and sometimes vinnie even thought they liked her better than him.
from across the room, vinnie was completely captivated by his beloved girlfriend engaged in a conversation with his mom. the pair were catching up on anything and everything that had happened since their last visit. seeing this left him grinning from ear to ear. vinnie always adored how well his girl got along with his family.
his dad noticed him staring in a trance, “alright lover boy, come eat.”
all eyes were suddenly on him as he turned red, embarrassed for being caught. y/n didn’t seem to mind though, she just held her hand out for him to come sit with her.
they gathered at the large kitchen table, passing around plates of fettuccine alfredo and some garlic bread. whilst everyone else began digging into the homemade meal, vinnie just sat back for a second, taking in the simple moment.
he was so content, eating his favorite food surrounded by his favorite people.
“it’s good to be home”, he thought.
a.n. i started writing this with another idea in mind but it slowly turned into this story so i think i’m going to write a part two but it’s not really a continuation of this, it’s a diff story, just takes place during seattle trip if that makes sense. idk maybe i’ll make a seattle series of one shots that don’t have to be read together, what do u guys think ?

White Wedding (Addison Montgomery x Female Reader)
Weddings are supposed to be full of love, happiness and gratitude. A wonderful celebration of two souls coming together as one. Today was one of those days. Callie and Arizona were finally and officially tying the knot.
It was supposed to be a happy celebration all round; all the happy couples loved up, attending the wedding together. Meredith and Derek, Christina and Teddy, Owen and Amelia, Richard and Catherine, among others showed their support for the sweetest couple who were currently reciting their vows.
You sat alone in the third row from the front, extremely proud of your friends. You were smiling from ear to ear as they each walked down the aisle. You knew their story like the back of your hand, and couldn’t contain the happiness you felt when Callie and Arizona finally came through for the other, especially after the accident. They had come so far.
You felt a pang of sadness, taking a look around the room at all the couples. You wished your girlfriend, Addison was here with you, but she had to fly back to LA after Sofia’s delivery. You barely spent enough time together as it is, both of you living in separate cities, leading separate lives. You did, however have a relatively strong and healthy relationship, taking the time to have long phone calls, FaceTime, and send as many text messages as you could. You tried to sneak weekends away  to LA, also.
But, things felt strained for the last few months, and you both felt the need to remedy that.
The last time you and Addison saw each other was during her stay, which was 4 days long. You hadn’t seen each other for five weeks, and you could tell the strain was getting to you. But, you both pushed those feelings down to focus on your friends. After all, you were both doctors.
When you did catch up, you and Addison had a slight argument the night before she was set to jet out of Seattle. You sort of made up, but you hadn’t really spoken since, just the odd text and call here and there.
You reminisced…
“Honey, I really want to stay longer, but I can’t. I’ve got patients to get back to and-“, Addison said sadly.
“We’ve barely seen each other for weeks on end, and when we do, you suddenly have to rush off again. I get that you have a new life now and I respect that. Of course I do, but where the fuck do we fit in?! When you took the job in LA, we promised we’d make each other a priority regardless of whatever happened. You only fly back to Seattle when Richard needs you. I’m busting my butt every other week, rearranging schedules, going out of my way to see you. Because guess what, Addison? I love you! Clearly you don’t love me enough, otherwise you’d be making some sacrifices” you snapped.
Addison was taken aback. You had never seen her look so sad and upset. You just missed her so much, and wanted to be with her. You instantly felt guilty for snapping because you didn’t mean to go that far and before she could say anything, you jumped in again.
“Shit. Baby, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that. I just miss you so much. You know that. I’m so so sorry”, you said, equally sad as you reached for her hand.
“We’ll, I’m not going to say that didn’t hurt, because it did. But I understand. I guess it was deserved. I’m sorry too, sweetheart. I’m gonna do better, I promise”, she said.
You held each other tight, “I love you”, you said in unison.
Addison was about to say something else when -
Her watch beeped, reminding of her flight and you drove her back to the airport where you shared one last kiss.
It wasn’t the way you wanted to make up, but it was a start.
Upon arriving back in LA, she texted immediately.
‘I’m back. I won’t say back home, because it isn’t home. Never has, never will be. My home is with you. FaceTime with me tomorrow? I love you baby xxxxx’, she texted
“Me too, my love. I most certainly will. I’m so sorry again. I love you too xxxx”, you replied.
Things improved between the two of you over the next four weeks, before she told you she couldn’t attend the wedding…
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. I really wanted to be there, but I just can’t get away”, she said, evidentially disappointed.
“Oh…okay. It’s fine. I can try and film it for you. It’s not going to be the same without you. I love you”. You were sad, but you didn’t want to push her.
……………..
Drawing you from your thoughts, you noticed the last of the guests arriving before the brides made their voyage down the aisle.
“Excuse me, beautiful, is this seat taken?”, you heard a voice say.
You thought you were dreaming. It couldn’t be. You looked up, to see a familiar, beautiful face smiling sweetly at you.
“Addison?!”, you shrieked
You both started crying as she pulled you up into her arms, holding you tightly.
“Surprise”, she whispered huskily into your ear.
“What are you doing here?! I thought you couldn’t come”, you cried.
“I couldn’t bear being away from you anymore”, she said, smiling through tears.
You kissed her with everything you had, before she pulled back.
“I mean it. I’m miserable in LA. I can’t stand it there. So, I’m coming home - for good”, she said.
You didn’t exactly comprehend what she said at first, but then gasped in delight, wrapping her up in your arms. Looking around, your friends were watching you both, all clearly happy for you.
You and Addison still had a lot to talk about, but right now, you put it to the side when Callie and Arizona appeared….
Everyone cried during the vow exchange, and you and Addison shared sweet, knowing looks, never letting go of each other’s hands.
…………..
At the reception, everyone gathered around Arizona and Callie as they had their first dance as a married couple.
Addison wrapped her arms around you from behind and rested her chin on your shoulder as you watched the happy couple. You hugged her arms, and she reached around to peck you on the lips. You two couldn’t get enough of each other.
When it came time for other couples to join the dance floor, you and Addison wasted no time walking hand in hand to the floor. At this point, everyone was in their own worlds, all content and happy, buzzing from the day’s events, while you and Addison were completely wrapped up in your own little bubble.
“So….”, she said, arms wrapped around your waist, holding you close as you swayed to Shania Twain’s ‘You’ve Got a Way’.
“So…”, you repeated.
She jumped right into it.
“I’ve missed you, my love. I really have. You are everything to me. I’m so sorry for making you feel otherwise. I shouldn’t have been neglecting us”, she said softly, her eyes not leaving yours.
“Addie, hey… No, please. I’m sorry - I had no right to go off at you. I should’ve been more understanding. You uprooted your life and that’s a huge deal; because you’re a big deal, babe. I thought about what I said to you that night, and it was completely unfair, way out of line, in fact.. I was just projecting my feelings onto you. I was so scared that by you moving would have jeopardised our relationship without thinking about anything else. It was me, I was selfish”, you said, sheepishly.
“In other words, you thought I’d cheat on you. That’s it, isn’t it?”, she asked.
You felt tears in your eyes. Blinking them back, you smiled sadly and nodded.
“Come on now, you know I would never, ever, do that to you”, she said.
“I know. I…know. I just should've been more supportive of you. I know what this opportunity meant to you”, you said, your tone apologetic.
“It’s not all on you, okay. I realised I was working longer hours, and I turned my back on us because I was so overwhelmed with all of it, and avoided you, because I think deep down, I was scared too. I was afraid of hurting you, and was terrified the long distance wouldn't work at first. So, I can see how you must’ve felt that way”, Addison said, gently touching your face.
You looked into her eyes, to see the tears shimmering like white diamonds.
“Baby…”, you said.
“Being away from you, not being able to see you, or hold you, or kiss you, made me realise that you, that what we have, is worth more to me than any job. So I told Naomi I quit, called Richard, and he offered me a new job”, Addison smiled.
“Oh, Addie, that’s great!”, you said gleefully.
“Yes, yes it is. But, the best part is that I am now Grey Sloan’s Chief of Neo-Natal Surgery. I’m officially the boss now, baby. You know what that means. This is going to be so good for us!”, Addie said.
You were crying softly and gently touched her face. You knew what this meant; Addison being in charge of her own specialty, back on home soil meant everything to her. She was determined to fight for her relationship with you, so being the boss meant she could make her own rules and schedule. But, not only that, she deserved that title; worked hard for it her whole life; and you were determined to fight to the ends of the earth for her.
It hit you then that she was really back.
“You’re home?!”, you asked, almost in shock.
“Mm-hmm. I’m home, baby”, she beamed.
“No more messing around, no more arguments. This is it - you and me. No more turning back. I want to fight for us”, she continued.
“I want to fight for us too”, you said back.
You smiled brightly at each other, feeling more connected and more in love than ever.
She was just about to kiss you when you heard the clinking of champagne glasses, as Callie’s father, Mr Torres called for a toast.
“Thank you everyone for coming to celebrate my beautiful daughter, Calliope and her wonderful new wife, Arizona on their special day today. These two have gone through hell and back to be together. I have never felt prouder of my little girl, than I do today. I look around the room, and see it filled with such love. It’s a really beautiful thing. Real, true love is a once in a lifetime feeling, so if you’ve found it, hold onto it with both hands and never let it go, because it’s one crazy ride. Ladies, I congratulate you both on overcoming your obstacles and finding your way to each other. I love you both so much, my dear daughters. To Callie and Arizona!”, Mr Torres exclaimed, full of pride.
“To Callie and Arizona!”, everyone said.
The newlyweds kissed, before turning their attention to the wedding cake.
You and Addison watched the whole exchange, extremely proud of your friends, grateful to be a part of their special, historic day; however, deep down, you both pictured this day of your own, in your not so distant future.
Addison and you shared a look, and you both just knew. This was the path you wanted to take.
“Forever and always, Addie”, you said, winking at her.
“Forever and always, Y/N”, she repeated, clutching your hand, bringing it to her lips.

Lake Chelan
Heyy💜 so i have a req for Vinnie😍 based on this tiktok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMdaeQPS7/ So the readers that girl and they had like the most amazing date and for whatever reason vinnie forgot to ask her number so they never met again until years later the reader is actually a big tiktok star and moves in with nai. One day nai’s on live and vinnie’s watching and then the reader shows up on live and he’s like ???!!!!! And freaks out cause it’s the girl he’s never been able to forget. @canyoubuymetoast
Summary: An impromptu connection quickly turns into an unforgettable yet unrealistic one. Despite this a few years later Vinnie finally gets a second chance to reignite said connection.
Warning: Tooth rotting fluff
Word Count: 3.4k
“You know your help would be great Vinnie.” Reggie says sarcastically while trying his best to figure out how to pitch their tent. Maria and Nate went off to scope the area since they already set up their tent, so it left the two Hacker brothers to figure out how to create their sleeping arrangements.
“Yea yea one sec.” He responds placing his phone on the picnic table he was sitting on before looking up to see a German Shepard walking towards him. Vinnie’s eyes instantly brighten and a smile washes over his face as he calls the dog over.
The black and brown dog trots over to Vinnie with a wagging tail and almost immediately the friendly animal starts to leave slobbery kisses all over Vinnie’s face. Vinnie lets out a laugh as he moves his face out of the way, but continues to the pet the dog.
“Who’s dog is that?” Reggie asks walking over to his brother, giving up on the tent.
“I don’t know it just came up to me. It’s friendly though.”
Reggie simply shrugs his shoulders and joins his brother in petting the dog. However, just as Vinnie opened his mouth to suggest that they should call the number on the dogs collar an unfamiliar voice calls out.
“Zeus! Where are you boy?”
Reggie looks up from the dog and his mouth almost immediately drops open when he see’s a gorgeous girl searching the area looking for something. He nudges his brother who was still petting the dog and cooing at it in a baby voice. Vinnie looks up at Reggie annoyed before he decides to look at what his brothers line of vision was fixated on.
As Vinnie looks over yours and his eyes simultaneously meet. Albeit cliché, Vinnie could’ve sworn he had the air knocked out of him just by making eye contact with you. He’s never felt anything like it before.
You on the other hand quickly glance down and relief washes over you as you finally spot your dog that wandered off of your families campsite. You quickly walk over to Zeus, your dog and the two boys that were with him.
“Zeus I should’ve known you went to mooch food off of strangers!” You exclaim to your dog who quickly walks over to your side before you finally look back up and make eye contact with the boys. As you do so seemingly the same effect you had on Vinnie, he had on you. How did you not realize how attractive he was when you were walking over to them?
“I’m sorry about him he does this at every campsite we go to. You would think we don’t feed him, but he’s just a glutton.” You say, heat washing over your face due to the fact your dog wandered off and found the most attractive guys you’ve ever seen.
“No no it’s okay we needed a break.” Vinnie says nodding over to the unpitched tent while smiling at how flustered you got from his gaze on you.
Reggie scoffs looking at you then his brother. “We needed a break?” He asks with a raised eyebrow. “Vinnie, I’ve been trying to set up the tent for the last 15 minutes while you were trying to find service so you could make a tiktok.”
It was now Vinnie’s turn to be flustered. “Pfft, that’s not true.” The blond says obviously fibbing and you simply look at him amused.
“Do you guys need help? My family and I go camping every summer so I’m basically an expert at setting up tents.” You suggest.
“Yea sure that would be great.” Vinnie says standing up for the first time in the last twenty minutes while smiling at you. Without another word the three of you walk over to the unpitched tent with Zeus following along.
“My name is Y/N by the way.” You say glancing at Vinnie before kneeling down to work your magic.
“Vinnie and that’s Reggie.”
And that was how you and Vinnie Hacker met, all thanks to your gluttonous dog who loved showing off his puppy dog eyes to strangers in return for food. Little did either of you know how much this small interaction would have an impact on the other. As the Hacker’s camping trip went on the more your family and Vinnie’s bumped into each other and finally one night your dad invited the Hacker’s over to your campsite for a bonfire. Almost instantly yours and Vinnie’s acquaintance status changed to friends. Soon enough your family and Vinnie’s family spent the rest of the camping trip together, going swimming, boating, tubbing and more.
That was no different for the last full day of your camping trip. In fact Vinnie finally gathered up the courage to ask you on a date despite the fact you two originally lived hours away from each other.
“Thank you.” You say glancing up to the waiter that just took away your empty plates and placed the bill on the table. You look back up at Vinnie who was already staring at you with admiration, causing heat to wash over your face.
Too flustered to look at the boy in front of you, you take in the scenic view. You two sat out on the patio over looking the lake with mountains, foliage and the sun setting in the distance. The restaurant Vinnie took you to was one of the fancy ones in town and the two of you stood out like a sore thumb due to your clothes. Showing up to the restaurant and sitting down to eat in a normal t-shirt and shorts was the equivalent of eating at McDonald’s in a prom dress and suit. Yet, the disapproving stares from other patrons made the whole experience even more memorable.
“This is very nice thank you Vinnie.”
“Anything for you.” He says softly, placing his hand on the table in which you take without hesitating, causing both of your heart beats to increase.
“Do you want to hit O’Riley’s after?” You ask, referencing the ice cream shop the two of you went to seemingly every day of the trip to cool off on your walk back to the campsite after a day full of activities.
Vinnie pulls out his wallet from his shorts to pay for the expensive meal while looking at you with a smile on his face. “Great minds think alike.”
Without another word you two leave the fancy restaurant hand in hand while receiving glares from the regular patrons. Throughout your short walk to the popular ice cream parlor in town the two of you reminisce about the past week and a half together. It honestly felt like a dream.
“You know I wanted to hold your hand on the hike today, but I couldn’t keep up with you and Zeus.” Vinnie says, recalling the hike you guys went on along with Reggie and your brother.
“Clearly you need to work on your stamina, City Boy. That incline wasn’t even that bad.” You joke poking Vinnie in the stomach before leaving his grasp to wander over to the menu of ice cream flavours. Vinnie was infatuated with everything about you and he adored how you made fun of him for being from Seattle. The blond lets out a laugh and follows you, wrapping his arms around your waist and placing his chin on the top of your head as he analyzed the menu as well. Almost instantly you melted into his touch.
“Okay Snow White.” He retorts back remembering how basically every animal or even bug seemingly gravitated towards you throughout the trip.
“What can I say Vinnie. I’m just that captivating.” You say turning to look at Vinnie before winking.
After a few minutes of waiting in line and you changing your mind on what flavour you wanted for the fifth time the two of you finally order and make your way over to a bench nearby. You weren’t a stranger to Lake Chelan and what you loved most about the small town was how close everything was. In fact the bench you and Vinnie decided to sit down on wasn’t too far from O’Riley’s, but it was close enough to the lake to witness the scenic view in full.
Once you two sat down you guys instantly turned to each other and tapped the other’s ice cream cones, causing some of your ice cream to transfer to Vinnie’s and some of Vinnie’s to transfer to yours. You introduced this small practice to Vinnie on the third day of hanging out together. In which the reason behind it was simply because you’ve been doing it ever since you were little for good luck and to have a small taste of the other person’s ice cream.
Vinnie watches as you taste his flavour, red velvet while your eyes light up, causing him to smile. “Holy shit yours is good.” You say before taking a lick of your flavour which was blueberry cheese cake. The blond laughs in amusement as your face of delight quickly turns into disgust.
“Yea I definitely should have gotten yours or moose tracks.”
Without hesitating Vinnie softly takes your ice cream cone out of your hand and switches it with his. “There you go.”
“Vinnie, no this is yours.” You say reaching for your ice cream back, but he simply puts his hand above you and ultimately out of your reach.
Vinnie laughs playfully as he watches you attempt to reach the cone with your original flavour from your spot beside him. “Y/N like I said earlier, anything for you.”
You roll your eyes at the blonds cheesiness, but you end up sitting back down placing your head on his shoulder while heat washed over your body at how he made you feel.
The sound of kids riding their bikes, crickets and birds splashing in the lake could be heard while the setting sun continued to reflect off of the water. “It’s so beautiful here.” You say after swallowing your last bite and taking in the view in front of you.
“Yea it is.”
You turn to Vinnie and your heart begins to race when you notice he was already looking at you. Some may think this moment was cliche, but to you it was perfect. In fact your hopeless romantic dreams were being fulfilled.
Vinnie’s gaze on you was intense and you couldn’t bring yourself to break it. Instead you found yourself flickering your eyes down to his plump lips and back up to his brown eyes. Vinnie follows your lead and his proximity causes your breath to hitch.
Without wasting another second Vinnie finally moves in and acts on what he has been wanting to do ever since he got to know you. His lips meet yours and you instantly kiss back, wanting for this to happen for a while yourself.
The kiss was short yet sweet and passionate while leaving both of you flustered. You place your head back onto Vinnie’s shoulder, your hand finding his and intertwining your fingers. A comfortable silence falls upon you two as both of you take in the perfect moment.
“I don’t want this trip to end.” Vinnie says breaking the silence while rubbing his thumb across your skin and admiring the scenic view in front of him.
It scared Vinnie how fast his feelings for you developed and continued to do so and he was quite frankly disappointed that you guys live so far away from each other. Although you both lived in the same state you lived closer to Portland while he remained in Seattle. You two created a once in a lifetime connection throughout a camping trip and it seemed as if it was going to end just like that.
“I promise I’ll say goodbye and give you my number before we leave tomorrow don’t worry.” You say lifting your head off of Vinnie’s shoulder before placing a kiss on his cheek. The whole trip you refused to give Vinnie your number or social medias simply because you realized their was more to life than the internet. You would rather be going hiking or playing in the rain than being on your phone, which Vinnie adored considering he was so consumed with his platform on TikTok.
However, your promise would ultimately be broken when Vinnie woke up the next morning. The blond boy walked over to your campsite with a small bouquet of wildflowers he picked along the way. He could hear the beat of his heart in every step he took, knowing this would be the last time he saw you for a while.
When Vinnie reached your campsite his heart and the bouquet of flowers simultaneously dropped at the same time. Your site was empty. In fact, it looked as if you and your family didn’t even stay there. The only thing that proved that you were there were the tire tracks of your families RV. Now the site was ready for the next group of campers to come in and make their own memories.
Even though you and Vinnie only spent a week and a half together it felt like you two created a lifetime worth of intimate moments and memories. He doesn’t understand how he got so attached to you in such a short amount of time, but he did. The blond boy lets out a deep sigh before turning around to go back to his site, leaving the memories you two created and flowers he brought you behind.
Vinnie lets out a big yawn as he stretches in bed. He grabs his phone and checks the time. 2:43pm. The night before the blond streamed Valorant on twitch until 4 in the morning so there was no wonder as to why he was just waking up. Deciding to stay in bed for a little longer, Vinnie cuddles into his sheets and opens TikTok, Hera joining him a little bit later.
As he scrolls he likes a few and comments on some of his friends posts. However, his incessant scrolling comes to a stop when his for you page lands on a video of Nai’s. Vinnie watches it, but as he does so a familiar face is shown causing his heart rate to increase while butterflies erupted in his stomach. Who knew that one person could still elicit these feelings out of him two years later?
There was no way. It couldn’t be you in the video. Yet there you were in Nai’s tiktok showing off your gecko. You looked the same, but so different at the same time. Vinnie couldn’t help himself, but to watch the tiktok a few more times, every time his smile getting bigger and his heart fuller.
Luckily for him Nai tagged you in the caption in which Vinnie took this opportunity to check out your profile and make sure it was actually you and his mind wasn’t playing tricks on him. Right away he knew it was in fact you.
You had just under a million followers and were on the brink of getting verified. As Vinnie scrolled through your profile he finds your first tiktok that went viral and ultimately kick started your career. The video was of you eight months ago running and dancing around in the rain in the middle of the road. Vinnie smiles as he watches and he couldn’t help, but to feel flustered at the fact he finally found you after all these years.
It made him happy to see that you seemingly stayed the same personality wise. From what he remembered you loved everything about nature and animals so there was no surprise to see your account full of videos of you enjoying what you loved. In fact your most viral videos consisted of your ring neck parakeet, Athena.
Just as Vinnie was about to hit the follow button on your account a text from Alex popped up.
I was planning on throwing a chill party tonight is that okay?
He clicked and stared at the message for a few seconds. Seemingly Nai would be invited which meant if you were with her still Nai would likely bring you as her plus one.
Yea ofc.
Vinnie spent the rest of the day going through your social media accounts. He wanted to follow you on every platform possible, but he didn’t want that to creep you out so he decided it was best to wait and see if you came tonight. After all his odds were looking in his favour as the time until the get together dwindled and you and Nai continued to post with each other.
The blond walks out of his washroom freshly showered with a towel around his waist and into his large room. He could hear a bunch of voices and music coming from down stairs so the party must have already started. Just as Vinnie was about to drop his towel to get dressed a familiar voice is heard from the other side of his door.
“Knock knock!” Nai shouts.
“One sec!” Vinnie calls out quickly, throwing on boxers and a pair of black cargo pants before rummaging through his dresser for a shirt. “Come in!”
Almost instantly the door flies open revealing Nailea in all her glory. Vinnie glances over to her in hopes you were with the brunette, but his hopes fall when he see’s you’re no where to be found.
“You seriously need to stop making thirst traps in the shower we all thought you slipped and died with how long you were taking.” Nai says walking into the room and flopping onto Vinnie’s bed.
Vinnie lets out a laugh while he continued to look for a shirt he wanted to wear, his mind being clouded with thoughts of you. Nai was wearing the same outfit she was wearing in the instagram stories she posted with you today so where were you?
Just as Vinnie turns around, putting on a shirt with the intent to discretely ask Nai about you a familiar, but nostalgic voice could be heard in the hallway over Alex’s loud laugh from downstairs. “Nai?”
“In here!”
“Jeez this house is huge I need a map just to leave the washroom.” You say walking into the unfamiliar bedroom. As you do so your eyes lock with Vinnie’s and both of your heart rates increase significantly. Heat washes over you under Vinnie’s gaze and you couldn’t help, but to feel confused. He looked so familiar, but you couldn’t put your finger on where you recognize him from.
Vinnie on the other hand felt as if his heart was going to beat out of his chest. Throughout the past few years he imagined scenarios where he would run into you back at home or at Lake Chelan, but finally being in your presence again caused him to not know how to act.
“Y/N this is Vinnie the friend of mine I wanted you to meet.” Nai says looking at you. “And Vinnie this is Y/N. I think you guys will click instantly especially since you’re both from Washington.”
“Nice to meet you. Can I sit?” You ask nodding over to Vinnie’s bed where Nai was sitting, petting Hera.
“Y-yea of course.” The blond stutters out causing his cheeks to go red. However, a pang of hurt rings throughout the boys heart when he realizes you don’t remember him.
Quickly you make your way over to Vinnie’s bed and without wasting another second you extend your hand out for Hera to smell before petting her. Vinnie watches as you do so. You looked even more beautiful than when he first met you two years prior, if that was even possible. Although you looked slightly different due to the fact you graciously grew into your features Vinnie could tell your personality stayed the same as you continued to gravitate towards animals.
“What’s this cuties name?” You ask scratching under Hera’s chin, causing her to purr before you smile at Vinnie.
“Her name is Hera.”
You let out a gasp, “Did you know Hera was married to Zeus?” You say, recalling your past obsession of Greek Mythology. By now Nai was zoned out of your conversation and was scrolling on tiktok.
“Yea I actually named her after a girl that I met at Lake Chelan, who’s dog was named Zeus.” Vinnie says with a toothy smile on his face.
Your eyes widen and you look back over to the blond, your heart beating a mile a minute while you finally connected the dots.
“City boy?” You breathe out.

The loud noises of chitchat and club music surrounded you. People were trying to make conversation, have a good time, and most of all enjoy this event. You couldn’t enjoy this event no matter how desperately you tried.
Why did the team have to choose the loudest club in all of Seattle to celebrate the start of the playoffs?
It was impossible to say when the panic set in, but suddenly your eyes were scanning for the normally easy person to find. If there was someone hard to lose in a crowd–it’s was the 6’7” man.
Your very own boyfriend, Jamie Oleksiak. No matter how hard you looked, you couldn’t spot the “big rig”. You dart between a crowd of people, rapidly looking through the drunk girls and the loud boys. The music was too loud, the smell of alcohol mixed with sweat was suffocating, and you felt so small.
It’s not Jamie’s fault. He left you beside a group of wags to go get a drink, but the girls had pulled you off dancing. They were now lost on you too. You reached into your tiny bag to grab your phone. Looking down at it you were misfortunate enough to have the last 3% of battery wasted on your mindless tapping.
Great, now you were even more trapped.
A very drunk perv thought it would be a great time to come up behind you and grab your hips. You could tell that it was not Jamie, just based on where the creep's hands were placed on your hips. Jamie was a gentleman, who never lets his hands wander somewhere you didn’t place them. The second you were grabbed–you turned away. You had ripped your body from the stranger's grasp.
That started your even more frantic searching for your boyfriend. All you wanted was Jamie. He made you feel secure, and without him, you were already feeling small. This whole situation was shrinking you. You debated going up to the bar and ordering a taxi. Only one thought kept you here. Jamie. He was here somewhere. You just had to find him. You ducked and weaved. Pressing yourself between groups of people. Just looking for the extremely tall man. Eventually, your luck turned. It was like whatever god you had been praying to finally listened.
You see the blue eyes scanning the crowd. You immediately picked up your pace towards Jamie, internally cursing your heels and your short dress. When you got to him, you pushed yourself into his frame with as much force as possible. Your fingers wrapped into the fabric of his shirt.
Jamie didn’t have to ask any questions or even say anything at all. He knew you were scared. He could tell by your shaking. His grip was tight as he backed the two of you slowly into a corner. See, with Jamie you felt small in a good way. You loved the way he towered over you. His hugs were all-consuming to your tiny frame. Best of all, he could shelter you from everything.
“Hey, look at me. I got you, honey.” Jamie’s voice flooded your ears.
His eyes were looking over your body it a slight panic. You didn't know it but he was frantically searching for your short frame as well. He whispered to you gently. You could barely hear him over the music, but he was here. Jamie gently placed you against the wall. His arms came up over your shoulders to box you in. It made you feel safe. You knew that Jamie felt guilty about losing you in the crowd. It was okay, you just felt happy that you found him.
“Can we go home?” You cringed at how faint your voice sounded.
Jamie nodded. He pulled out his phone to order an Uber. However, he didn’t stop holding you for a second. His hand had moved from its place on the wall to wrap around your shoulder. That way he could completely cover you on the way out. Aka, protecting you from all the creeps and the drunks.
“ I’m here, bubba.” Jamie let out as you cling onto him. Soon enough, the two of you were out of the club and into the Uber.
“I feel tiny.” You laughed out as soon as the nerves left. He laughed along with his hand on your knee.
“ You are tiny. I mean, tiny compared to me at least.”
It felt good to be beside him. It felt even better to be away from that loud club. You knew that he was a little sad to leave his teammates at the club, but he’d do anything for his girl. The two of you finally pull up your shared home. You pay the Uber driver and bud him goodnight.
“Come on, tiny. Let’s get into pj’s and watch a movie.”
You trailed behind Jamie and shortly made it to the bathroom to get ready for your unplanned movie night. It was a perfect ending to an almost awful night.

can you please do fluff #15 with Jamie Oleksiak???
15. "i can't wait to see you." - jamie oleksiak
word count: 1.6k pairing: jamie oleksiak x reader
Jamie had left for Seattle the day he got the call from his agent.
You’d be lying if you said you weren’t upset about how quickly things were changing. One second, he was a fan favourite of the Dallas Stars, next he was being left unprotected and easily getting swept up by the Seattle Kraken in the midst of the expansion draft.
He had promised you things wouldn’t change too much, that the two of you would be able to work everything out and figure out what you were going to do, whether you were going to follow him to Seattle or try to make it work from miles away. He had promised you that you guys would figure it out before engulfing you up in his arms, his body wrapping eagerly around you as you pressed yourself as close to his as you could.
Jamie bid you goodbye with an eager press to your lips, his body ducking down while your lips moulded against each other, the unspoken words flowing through before he pulled away, a quick press of his lips to your forehead and one last hug before he had to make his way through the airport.
That was three days ago, and you were already starting to lose it a little on the inside. Jamie was busy, you knew that it was inevitable, but the two of you had barely had the opportunity to talk, the Kraken hoarding him and his teammates during the short week they had with them before they let the players loose for the summer.
Every time your phone vibrated, or your watch dinged, or you felt even the slightest movement of your phone, you were pulling it up to your face and trying to figure out if it was Jamie messaging you or calling you, but it never was. Especially in the middle of the day.
Except for this time.
The FaceTime request shined bright on the screen in front of you, Jamie’s contact name evident at the top of the screen as the FaceTime sound made its way throughout the small deck you found yourself on. You were still in Jamie’s Dallas house, agreeing that he’d meet you there the moment Seattle let him go free for the summer.
His face appeared on the screen, a wide toothy grin crossing his face when he made eye contact through the screen.
“Look at that beautiful damn face, baby. I’ve missed you.”
Sticking your tongue out at him, you could feel your cheeks start to warm as his compliment. “Don’t go getting all sappy now, Big Rig, I still have almost a week until I get to see your handsome face in person.”
“What if it was… less than a week?”
Quirking an eyebrow at him, urging him to continue as you didn’t let any words pass your lips.
“I’ve been thinking. We have a lot of free time in Seattle, I’ve just been spending it with the boys, but Ebs is bringing his wife up on Thursday, and Tanev said he’s flying his girlfriend up tomorrow. You wanna come? See the city I’m going to beg you to move to?”
The immense joy that burst inside of you at his words was incomparable. That was the last thing you were expecting Jamie to say, you didn’t even let a thought cross your mind before you were nodding your head eagerly, a large grin taking over your face as you looked at your boyfriend through the screen.
“Oh my god, yes. Obviously yes, one hundred times yes.”
A wide grin took over Jamie’s face as he watched your excitement play out. He had barely given it a though when his teammates said they were bringing their wives and girlfriends to go house-hunting with them, citing the fact that it would be a better idea to get started now than at the end of the summer and right before training camp.
Jamie quickly jumped on the idea, knowing full well that there was no guarantee you were moving from Dallas to Seattle for him, but after all of the houses he had the opportunity to see in his few days here, he knew it would be easy enough to convince you how worth it the move would be. He just didn’t know how right he was.
“Glad you said yes, your plane ticket should already be sitting in your email. See you tomorrow at 10am, babe.”
Mock groaning at the early flight time, all you did was pout as Jamie continued to grin back at you.
“I can’t wait to see you, baby.”
“I can’t wait to see you either, lover.”
Your arms barely wrapped all the way around his body, your frame tucked happily against his own large one as the both of you ignored the hordes of people walking past. Solely focused on each other, Jamie whispered sweet nothings in your ear, telling you how much he’d missed you, and how happy he was to see you, and how excited he was for you to see Seattle.
The cool air of his rental car greeted you kindly, the warm Seattle air unexpected. You couldn’t deny that Jamie was right, Seattle was beautiful, and you did love it practically the moment you saw it.
His hand was pressed gently against the exposed thigh above your knee, eagerly pressing a kiss to your lips at every stoplight, squeezing your thigh with every laugh that passed his lips. You had missed him so much, and this was why. He was attentive, and kind, and just a constant figure, he constantly made his presence known and apparent, constantly made sure you knew how loved you were and how obsessed with you he was.
“I feel like we’re going the complete opposite way of the hotel?”
“How would you know where the hotel is, nerd? You’ve never even been here before.”
Pursuing your lips at him, you turned your head slightly to look out the back window, the downtown core of Seattle highlighted in the view you were currently looking at. Forcing your body back around to glance at him, you quirked an eyebrow in response.
Rolling his eyes playfully, all Jamie did was squeeze your thigh again and grin. “I’m showing you something that I think you’ll love. Brought you out here for a reason, didn’ I?”
Shrugging your shoulders with a smile, you grabbed his much larger hand and entwined your fingers with his. His response: a light and gentle squeeze before pressing the back of your hand to his lips and then moving your entwined fingers back to the top of your thigh.
The house began to appear, the downtown core slowly dissipating as Jamie made his way more and more towards the suburbs of Seattle. The houses were all beautiful, the minimalistic and cottage core-like aesthetic flowing through the area the deeper and deeper Jamie found himself driving.
It took a few minutes for Jamie to find the parking lot he was looking for, a playground parking lot the most vacant lot he could find in the area. Curious, you followed his lead, unbuckling your seatbelt and following him out of the car. His arm easily wrapped around your shoulder as he directed you on where to walk, the conversation flowing lightly between the two of you.
The area was quiet, there were some families on the playground, couples walking their dogs, but it was quiet, and homey. Similar to the area you and Jamie lived in, in Dallas.
Pointing with his hand that wasn’t attached to the arm wrapped around your shoulder, you averted your eyes to gaze at the object. Your eyes met the bright right of a ‘sold’ sign, the beautiful mint-coloured home behind it staring back at you.
“Jordan Eberle and his wife bought this house before they even looked at it. Ebs and I went yesterday, it’s so gorgeous in there. You’d love it. Open-concept kitchen, the living room couches won’t be pressed against the wall, the master bedroom has two walk-in closets. You’d be so jealous.”
You couldn’t deny the jealousy that creeped up inside of you at the sounds of what he was describing. Four things ticked off your list for the future house Jamie and you would one day hopefully inhabit, almost immediately? Sounded too good to be true.
The two of you continued, before stopping in front of a second house, just steps away from the previous one you had eyed.
“This house is almost identical. Except for the colour, obviously. But the baby blue and white are cute, no?”
Nodding your head at his words, you couldn’t deny that the house was cute. Minimalistic, a nice white porch, a swing prevalent just steps away from the front door. Just the outside alone was everything you had always dreamed of and more.
“Almost the same setup inside, except one of the walls on the main floor may have to be torn down to accommodate an open concept kitchen,” quirking an eyebrow at his words, you turned to him with a questioning look in his eyes.
“I want you to move to Seattle with me, I’m prepared to put an offer in for this house in 25 minutes if you say you like the house and that you’ll move here. I’ll even let you decorate it to your heart’s desire, be our own little interior designer or whatever.”
You could barely contain the smile of glee at his words, you had been on edge about following Jamie to another city after getting situated in Dallas for the second time, change was hard, but when it felt like change kept occurring every two years… well… it made things even more difficult.
It was like Jamie could sense your worries as he started again, “Seattle’s in it for the long-run. The contracts five years. I think here is it for us, baby. I think you’d love it here, and I think you’d love this house.”
“Show me our future house then, Mr. Oleksiak.”

You don’t remember what happened on that plane. How you guys got in the middle of the woods with your plane split in half. Everything was blurry, but you saw mostly everyone: Meredith, Cristina, Arizona, your brother Mark, and Lexie?
Wait...where’s Lexie?
You immediately shot up, ignoring the pain that you felt in the right side of your body. You tried walking normally when you started to limp.
“Woah, woah, Y/N!” Mark comes over and you finally look at your foot and hand.
Your hand was impaled by the pieces of the plane metal. It was numb. Your whole hand was numb, but you didn’t care about that. So was your foot, you couldn’t feel it. But you didn’t care, all you cared about was trying to find Lexie.
“Y/N, we need to get that out of your hand. It’ll cause serious damage,” he tried to stop you from whatever you were doing.
“No, I can’t. I got to-I got to find,” you start to say, but trail off.
He sits you down on the mulch ground before you can protest, “This is going to hurt,” he whispers.
He pulled the metal plane out before you could even realize what was happening. You let out a piercing scream, he immediately ripped a piece of fabric from his scrubs and wrapped it around your hand.
Before you knew it he did the same thing with your foot, “You need to rest Y/N,” he told you, but you shook your head, pushing him away.
“No! Where’s, where’s-” you start to say again.
“Lexie!” Meredith scream and your head shot towards the sound of her name like a deer hearing the softest of footsteps.
You ran towards her to see her trapped over a piece of hunky plane metal. Her breathing was heavy as she couldn’t move.
“Y/N, is that you?” she whispered.
You nodded, immediately lying down on the floor next to her, “Yeah, yeah. It’s me. I’m right here,”
“I’m gonna die,” she whispered.
You shook your head quickly, “No, no! You are not dying. I am going to save you, do you understand?”
You started to get up from the ground when she grabbed your hand, squeezing it ever so softly. You were met with those beautiful brown eyes that you completely fell in love with. Then all the memories from when you first moved to Seattle and meeting Lexie flooded back.
“So I was thinking you and I go on a date tonight. Something casual, wine and pizza at my new place,” you asked, suggesting more to come out of the date.
The nurse had her head propped up onto her chin, “I’d really like that, but what’s for dessert?” she whispered back.
You were about to answer when someone shoved a chart in the nurse’s face. You looked to see a dirty blonde haired woman. She gave you a fake smile, “Hey, Dr. Grey?” you looked at her coat, “Have you seen uh Dr. Sloan?” you asked a dirty blonde hair girl.
She looks at you, slightly annoyed, “Another one of Mark’s suitors?” she asked and you shook your head.
“That is probably the grossest thing I’ve ever heard, I’m Y/N Sloan, Mark’s sister,” you told her, “I heard a lot about you,”
“That explains the flirting with the nurses, wait- Mark talks about me?” she asked and you nodded, “What does he say?”
“Well that depends are you the ‘dirty mistress’ Grey or ‘little’ Grey?” you return the question and she just internally rolls her eyes.
“Of course he says I’m the dirty mistress,” she whispered.
You were about to respond when someone called Meredith’s name. You followed the sound of the voice to see a beautiful brunette girl approaching the two of you. Your eyes widened slightly at the beauty of this one girl.
Her brown doe eyes caught your attention and you smiled ever so slightly, “Cristina needs you to help her with a CT scan. It’s for a patient,”
“Thank you Lexie,” she said, but before walking away she turns to you, “I’ll page Mark. Try not to flirt with any more nurses while you wait. We already had a case of syphilis, we don’t need another,”
You let out a heart laugh, “It was nice to finally meet the dirty mistress,” you teased and you knew it was going to be the start of a beautiful friendship.
“You know Mark?” the beautiful girl named Lexie asked.
You nodded, “Yeah, he’s my brother. I just moved here from Houston, got a call from Dr. Webber himself and was offered a job,”
“That explains the comment,” she mumbled and you just raised your eyebrows, “Mark’s known to be a player around here and by the looks of it, it runs in the family,”
“Well, you know what they say, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree,” you said with a shrug.
She scoffed softly, “Is that my favorite Sloan?” you heard a familiar voice ask. You see Derek walking towards the two of you. You wrap your arms around them and pat his back in the process.
“I hope I’m your favorite Sloan,” you teased, “Where is my brother anyway?”
“I have no idea, but I heard you got a job here. You’re here to give me a run for my money huh?”
“Wait, your specialty is neuro?” Lexie asked.
“Yep and to answer your question Derek I am definitely going to give you a run for your money. Head of neuro will be mine,” you joked as he rolled his eyes.
“Did someone forget to tell me that my baby sister got a job at my hospital?” you heard his voice boom through the lobby. You rolled your eyes playfully as he hugged you.
“Why didn’t you tell me you got a job here or better question how many nurses numbers have you gotten?” he asked and the two of you laughed.
You reached into your pocket, pulling out pieces of paper, “I taught you well!”
Lexie who was still standing there scoffed as Derek just let out a sigh, “The two of you are insufferable,” she stated annoyed before walking away.
You looked at her as she walked away, “Is she single?”
“Nope, that’s off limits for the both of you. You’re not going to put her through that,” Derek stated and you let out a sigh.
You were snapped back into the harsh reality as Lexie tried her best to squeeze your hand, “Y/N, I still remember being on your service. You came to talk to me about our patient...” she was lost in thought before she started speaking again, “It was a Jane Doe after a tragic car crash and I was having a rough day because of my dad. Then you, you heard me snap at Meredith...”
She started to trail off and you nodded, “I remember,”
You were walking up to where Meredith and Lexie were talking. Meredith started to walk away as Lexie followed behind her. You posted at the nurse’s counter next to where they were standing to right down a quick note, when you heard them argue.
“My mother was born in March. He lied, he’s a liar. And I’m glad. Really, I’m glad that you found him charming. I’m sure he was delightful. He’s a blast after five drinks not so much after nine though, he gets a little weepy and mean,” you overheard her say.
You were about to walk away and find her later when she yelled, “He’s a drunk, Meredith. He probably came in and told you how wonderful you are. How sad he is that he doesn’t get to spend more time with you. You know, yesterday he told me I was his favorite daughter. The day before I was an ungrateful bitch. The week before he wrote me a check for 20,000 dollars because he said I deserved everything life had to offer because he was so proud of me. A lifetime’s worth of proud. So you can’t listen to anything he says,” her voice started cracking and your face softened, “Because it’s not about you. It’s about a pint and a half of Dewar’s. So thank you for letting me know I needed to keep a better eye on him. Thanks.”
She started to walk away and you stood in front of her trying to get her to calm down. You noticed the tears forming in her eyes, “No please don’t,” she pushed you away gently before walking away.
You immediately followed after her to the attendants break room. You looked the door behind you as she sat on the couch, placing her head in her hands. You walked over and sat right next to her, sitting there in silence.
There were a few moments of silence before you spoke up again, “I know what it’s like to have a drunk dad. You’re not alone. You don’t have to take this on all on your own,” you whispered, placing a hand on her shoulder, “If you want you can rest up in here. I can handle Jane Doe until you’re ready. If any of the attendants give you shit about being here, let them know I gave you permission. If you need anyone to talk to, I’m here,”
Lexie squeezed your hand, bringing you back from the memory, yet again, “That was the first time I saw you as an actual person. Not someone who just wanted to mess around with people’s feelings, an actual person,” she smiled softly through the pain, “But I didn’t fall in love with you until the night at my dad’s house. You came to pick me up to take me to Meredith’s party and my dad was drunk and he was mean and he-”
“I know, I remember,”
You pulled up to Lexie’s house. You were supposed to meet up with one of the many nurse’s you’ve been hooking up with it. But you cut it off, you cut them all off.
After you comforted her, all you could think about was her. How intelligent she was. How sweet and kind she tries to be with everyone around her. Yeah, she was beautiful, but she was so much more than that.
That’s the only time you’ve ever felt that towards anyone.
You knocked on the door, you waited patiently. One minute would pass and you decided to knock again. But no one answered.
You turned the door handle and surprisingly it opened. You looked around the room to see shattered glass all over the floor and Thatcher passed out on the couch.
Lexie was sitting on the kitchen floor. A deep cut on her forehead. Her eyes red and puffy as she swept the shattered glass with a small broom.
“Lexie! What happened?” she jumped at the sound of her voice.
She sniffled, “He-he got mean and he didn’t like that I was going out. He through his beer bottle at me, not just one either,”
You looked at the empty beer case next to the couch and you pulled her up from the floor. Immediately, pulling her out of that horrid house.
The car ride was silent as you felt your blood boil. You forgot all about Meredith’s party and went straight to your apartment. The two of you entered and you immediately grabbed your first aid kit.
Lexie sat on the kitchen counter as you stitched up her forehead. The two of you in a comfortable silence. Once you finished bandaging her, you helped her off the counter.
“Are you okay?” you whispered and she nodded with a tight lipped smile.
“I-I’m fine,” her voice cracked as tears poured out her eyes.
She let out loud sobs as she broke down onto the floor. You scooped her up in your arms to keep her from falling onto the floor.
You held her tight as she buried her face into your chest, “Shhh I got you. You’re safe now. You’re okay.”
That night she fell asleep in your arms. You picked her up and laid her gently onto your bed. You tucked her in, placing a soft kiss to her forehead.
“I promise I’m always going to protect you,”
You started to get up when she squeezed your hand, “Please just stay with me,”
From that night on, you decided to be better. To do better. To be someone she deserved.
But once you got there, it was too late.
You were going over to Mark’s house to surprise him with takeout, when you walked into something you didn’t ever want to walk in on.
Mark and Lexie were cuddled up on the couch. Their clothes on the floor as a blanket hanged loosely over it.
It was too late. You were too late.
“I thought you hated me for a while. Your whole demeanor changed around me,” Lexie said, her breathing still heavy.
You heard shouts from Meredith from behind you as Cristina kept on yelling for her shoe, “I could never hate you,”
You walked into the attendant’s break room to see Mark and Lexie being all couple-like, “Hey Y/N,”
You have them a tight lipped smile before going to pour your coffee, “You’re not supposed to be here,” you stated simply.
“What?” Lexie asked.
You didn’t look up from the coffee pot, “It’s the attendants’ break room. Residents aren’t allowed. You need to leave,”
“Y/N, seriously?” Mark asked.
“I don’t make the rules,” you whispered.
You could feel Lexie’s stare piercing at you, “It’s fine Mark, I’ll leave,”
“What’s going on with you, Y/N?” Mark asked.
“Nothing I’m fine,”
You don’t know what came over. You gave up on trying to be better. Do better. So there you were with a nurse sleeping on top of you and the only person you could think of was Lexie.
Then of course like it always does the worst happened. Lexie came bursting through the room, “I uh I’m sorry. But Hunt wants to meet with us, Mark, Derek, Meredith, Cristina, and Arizona,”
“I’ll be right there,” you threw on your clothes and walked right past her.
“What’s your problem with me?” she asked as you guys were walking to Hunt’s office.
“Nothing,”
“Obviously there’s something, you won’t even look at me,” she stated a hint of sadness in her voice.
“There’s nothing. We’re fine,”
“Just stop and talk to me!” she yelled.
“There’s nothing to talk about Lexie. You already have one Sloan in your life. You don’t need two. Remember the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree,” you snapped.
“Y/N, I’m dying,” she whispered and you shook your head. The adrenaline coursing through your body.
“No, you’re not dying today, okay?” you whispered.
You started to get up again when she grabbed her hand, “Please just stay with me. I have one more thing I want to say,”
“I always thought you were-you were a player. You didn’t want to settle down, you just wanted fun. But that didn’t stop me from loving you. If things were different, if we were different,” she whispered and your eyes started to tear up, “I never loved Mark the way I loved you. And he knew that, we both knew that.”
“Stop, okay? No goodbyes. You’re going to become and amazing neurosurgeon, Lexie. You have so much more to learn. A whole life ahead of you,” you told her, “You’ll settle down with kids and a husband or wife. Someone who makes you happy,”
It was her turn to shake her head, “I don’t get that. We will never get that together. I know you hate me, but Y/N, you’ll always be my favorite what if,”
That was all it took for you to get up. You don’t know what came over you, but you stood up and you tried lifting the stupid plane metal off of her. You let out a groan as you started pushing it off.
Hysterical strength is what they called it. When your adrenaline and your hormones and body chemistry kicks in during a dangerous situation. You pushed the plane right off of her.
Then started to immediately patching her up. Not too long later a rescue plane arrived. Lexie started falling in and out of consciousness.
You sat in the emergency room as your hand was getting checked out. They rushed Lexie back to the OR, you didn’t care if your hand lost all its function. All you cared about was her.
“I always knew,” Mark whispered to you as the two of you sat next to each other in the emergency room, “That she loves you and that you love her. I don’t know why I thought that I could get into the middle of it,”
He places his hand in your numb one, “She’s going to be okay,”
“The last thing she’s going to think about me is that I hated her. I never hated her,” I whispered.
You don’t know how long it was before the doctor came out, looking straight at me, “She’s okay and she’s asking for you.”
You shot out from your bed and rushed to her room. She sat there, her hair slightly messy as she gave you a small smile, “Hi,”
You immediately ran towards her, cupping her face as gently as possible, before pulling her closer. The two of your lips finally touching. It was magic. Sparks flying as the two of you kissed.
“I never hated you. I could never hate you. I’m sorry I was just so jealous and upset about you and-“ you started to ramble as you pulled away.
“I know,”
“I’ve loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you,” you whispered, “Please don’t ever leave me. You’re too special to be a what if,”
Fifteen years later
“So mommy used to have super strength?” your youngest daughter turned to Lexie and you chuckled softly.
Lexie nodded, “She still does. Whenever you’re in danger, mommy will help activate her super strength and help you,” Lexie bopped her nose as the two of you told her, her favorite bedtime story.
“She’s like the Hulk!” your son added and you laughed before ruffling his hair.
“You guys really set the bar for love stories didn’t you?” your teenage daughter asked, rolling her eyes playfully after hearing the semi true fairytale story for a thousandth time.
“Oh definitely. You can try to beat us, but you’ll fail,” you teased her and Lexie pushed you playfully.
You guys laugh, “Bedtime everyone!” Lexie announced.
“Goodnight,” the two of you said to your youngest daughter, placing a soft kiss on her forehead. Before hugging your son and daughter.
The two of you settled into bed as Lexie curled up into your arms. She placed her hand in yours, squeezing it ever so softly. The feeling of her hand in your once injured one was comforting.
“You’re my better half, did you know that?” you whispered, “You bring out the better half of me,”
“And you bring out mine,”
